So why is evolution such a dangerous theory?
Why do we believe in a literal 7 days of creation?
First, we believe the Bible is the inerrant word of God. Had scripture begun, ‘in the beginning. God created one-cell organisms that over millions of years evolved into all the animals,’ that would be fine, but it doesn’t.
Second, Jesus maintained the seven days of creation. Mark 10:5, Mark 13:19, and Jesus was there, John 1:1. Paul also believes in creationism. Romans 5:12-20. If there was no Adam, then there is no original sin. If there is no original sin, there is no fall. If there is no fall, there is no need for a savior. But look around the world. We see evil everywhere. But God Did not create the world like this. In Genesis, we read that God said it was good. If God created it "good" what happened? Scripture tells us that sin entered the world. Scripture also tells us that all of creation moans in anticipation of Jesus’ return Romans 8:22. Scripture tells us that when sin entered the world, so did death. All of creation was contaminated by man's sin. When Jesus returns and restores all things, Scripture tells us the Lion will lie down with the lamb, and the baby will place his hand in the cobra's den. When man fell, all of creation was affected by it. Jesus tells us in the book of Revelation 21:4, “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” When Jesus comes again, He will restore all things the way they were at the beginning and the way they were meant to be.
Another reason we believe in the literal 7-day creation is Scripture says in Psalms 90:4, “For a thousand years in Your sight are like yesterday when it is past and like a watch in the night.“ The seven days of creation represent 7000 years. The number six in Scripture is the number of man or sin. And the #7 in Scripture is the number of perfection or God. Man was created on the 6th day, God rested on the 7th, and this sums up history. There were approximately 4000 years between creation and the resurrection. The gospel was offered to the Jewish people, who rejected it for the most part. Then came the Church age, or the age of the Gentiles. This is a period of 2000 years, making approximately 6000 years between creation and the end of the Church Age. But God must fulfill his promises to the Jewish people. That began in 1948 when Israel became a nation again. Numerous prophecies point to this. That God has not abandoned the Jewish people is clear in Romans 9-11. At some point, there will be a period of seven years called the Tribulation. This is God's wrath, not Satan’s. At the end of the seven years, Jesus will return with the Saints and reigned for 1000 years. This is known as the Millennial Kingdom. At the end of the seven years, Satan will be released for a short time. He will be defeated and thrown into hell forever. Then the new Jerusalem shall come down, and we will live and reign with God For all eternity. So you see how the seven days of creation reflect the 7000 years of human existence ending with God's reign in perfection.
Why does it matter if I believe in evolution or not?
Let's say you were Satan for a moment, and you wanted to separate God from man. What would you do? First, you have to get people to doubt the Bible. The Bible contains the complete plan of salvation. It tells us of a loving God who created man in his image. That man sinned, separating us from God, that God gave us the law to show that we were helpless to do good, and that God so loved us that He sent his Son Jesus. Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6). John also tells us in John 1:1, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.“ If Satan can get you to doubt the Bible, everything else falls apart. If Genesis 1 is wrong, how can we trust the rest of the Bible? If the Bible's truth is in doubt, then Jesus is a liar. If Jesus is a liar, then there is no plan of salvation. You see the consequences. Someone who doubts the Bible will not trust in Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Satan wins and souls go to hell!
Now that he has people doubting the Bible, inject evolution. There is now no original sin. Morality is subjective, free will is an illusion. Since evolution is amoral then humanity is evolving towards becoming God. This justifies slavery, the Holocaust, anything. The creation is worshipped, and the creator is ignored. You see how effective evolution is in Satan's plan. God is replaced with man. God is not worshipped and man sees no need to repent.
